Google unveils Nexus One smartphone
Google on Tuesday unveiled the Nexus One, the online giant’s leap into the smartphone market.

At a 1 p.m. ET event, the company presented the phone.

“Nexus One is where Web meets phone,” said Google’s Mario Queiroz.

The Samsung Blue Earth is a touch-screen phone with a solar panel charger located on its back. Its design symbolizes a flat, rounded pebble. Made from recycled plastic that is extracted from water bottles, Blue Earth helps to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions in the manufacturing process. The handset and charger are also free from harmful substances. The packaging is also made from recycled paper. A 5 star energy efficient charger uses standby power lower than 0.03W.
